Smart Laboratory Summit Forum Shanghai Station and Press Conference for New Automation Products of Testing Machines

To promote green and intelligent transformation of enterprises and build advanced smart steel factories, following the first "Metallurgical Smart Laboratory Summit Forum" live demonstration, Shimadzu, in collaboration with Sensepoch (Shanghai) Automation Technology Co., Ltd. and China Metallurgical Testing & Certification Co., Ltd., held the second stop of the "Smart Laboratory Summit Forum" and a press conference for new automation products of testing machines in Shanghai on August 25, 2023. Leaders attending the conference included Mr. Yosaharu Aoyama, Chairman and General Manager of Shimadzu Corporation (China), Mr. Tongbin Wu, Division Director of the Analytical and Measuring Instruments Division, Mr. Huasheng Li, General Manager of Sensepoch (Shanghai) Automation Technology Co., Ltd., Mr. Jianwei Wang, Technical Director, and Mr. Xiaobin Li, Executive Deputy Director of the National Building Steel Inspection and Testing Center.

Following the format of the first Smart Laboratory Summit Forum, this new product launch event consisted of two sessions: "conference reports" and "on-site visits". During the report session, Mr. Takehiko Fukuda, Head of Testing Machines at Shimadzu Corporation, was invited to deliver a pre-recorded video presentation, detailing the origin and development of testing machines at Shimadzu, as well as the development and trends in the metallurgical industry after the introduction of automation systems, laying a solid foundation for the launch of new automation products for testing machines.

At the same time, Director Xiaobin Li provided a detailed overview of the development history and trends of laboratories in steel enterprises, and through practical application cases from major steel mills, explained the varying degrees of demand for automation and corresponding approaches in the inspection and testing processes of steel enterprises.

From the user's perspective of Shimadzu testing machines, Director Xiaoguang Qi from the Mechanical Laboratory of Xingcheng Special Steel elaborated on the intuitive experience of using Shimadzu testing machines in terms of equipment quality and after-sales service. From the professional perspective of automated inspection, he also discussed the current status of automation in steel mills and the requirements for automation products of testing machines, providing valuable insights.

As a co-organizer of the conference, Director Jianwei Wang from Sensepoch (Shanghai) Automation Technology Co., Ltd. delivered a detailed report on how to build new-type smart laboratories, explaining the composition of automation systems from the perspectives of system principles and product structures, as well as the automated scenarios that have been successfully established.

Finally, Ms. Yue Wang, an automation product expert from the Marketing Department of Shimadzu's Analytical and Measuring Instruments Division, introduced the existing automation products of Shimadzu to the on-site attendees, as well as the new automation products for testing machines launched this time. It is worth mentioning that after the launch of the new automation products for testing machines, Shimadzu has become a supplier of automation solutions capable of simultaneous chemical and physical analysis.

In the afternoon, the guests moved to the cooperative smart laboratory located in Baoshan District, Shanghai, to attend the unveiling ceremony of the new products. Mr. Tongbin Wu, Division Director of the Analytical and Measuring Instruments Division of Shimadzu Corporation (China), and Mr. Jianwei Wang, Technical Director of Sensepoch (Shanghai) Automation Technology Co., Ltd., delivered speeches at the unveiling ceremony. After the unveiling, the attendees were divided into three groups to visit the new automation products for testing machines, as well as other automation products and pretreatment equipment in the smart laboratory in an orderly manner.
